Benefit Plan Testimonials

Retired Officer Elaine Rountree spends her free time as a talented artist.

I’d just like to let you know how excited I am now that CLEAT is offering Vision/Dental care for retirees. This is something that has been much desired and greatly appreciated since I retired from El Paso after 24 1/2 years in 1999. Thank you thank you thank you CLEAT for fighting for we retirees.

I’m sure you have had a multitude of responses especially since the insurance is reasonably priced, and offers the same coverage we carried while actively working as a police officer. Actually it is better than any outside insurance I have attempted to obtain. I have been without vision insurance since retiring, and my current dental insurance through a private company is lacking to put it mildly.

When I retired I took care of my Mom for several years, then worked as a field deputy for the Office of Medical Examiner, and am now totally retired, though busy keeping up my lovely home in Maxwell, NM. My girls (dogs) Dixie and Meesha love it here as do I.

Thank you again,
Elaine Rountree

Luis Dovalina, President of the Laredo Police Officers Association which is one of the many groups participating in the CLEAT Benefit Plan.

“Laredo police officers and their families have enjoyed the dental and vision coverage provided by the CLEAT Benefit Plan for many years. We believe it is a “Cadillac” plan and there is no better dental or vision plan available in Texas for officers and their families. We would encourage every CLEAT member to contact their local association about joining the plan.”

“The Beaumont Police Officers Association has had the CLEAT dental and vision plans negotiated into our collective bargaining contract for close to 20 years. Our members and their families have enjoyed one of the best dental and vision plans available on the market. Our officers really appreciate the new benefit that allows them to retain the coverage after they retire. Our members have ownership in the CLEAT Benefit Plan because it is member-owned and member-governed.”
