CLEAT endorses Lakeway Chief Radford for Travis County sheriff

radfordAUSTIN — The Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Texas today endorsed Lakeway Police Chief Todd Radford in the March 1 Democratic Primary for Travis County sheriff.

“CLEAT is proud to join our local affiliate, the Travis County Sheriff’s Officers’ Association, in standing solidly in support of Chief Radford,” said CLEAT President Todd Harrison, an Austin police sergeant."

“I’ve known and worked with the chief for 30 years, and I can assure the voters of Travis County that TCSOA’s confidence in Chief Radford is well placed.”

Radford began his law enforcement career with the Travis County Sheriff’s Office. After 10 years, he joined the Texas Engineering Extension Service’s Law Enforcement & Security Training Division where he helped train officers in community engagement and policing while also implementing a national training program focusing on the safety and security of U.S. cities against domestic terrorism.

Later he worked for the Texas Attorney General’s Office Special Investigations Division as the training coordinator, directing tactical training and planning for officers across the state.

For the past six years, Radford has served as the Lakeway Police Chief.

“It's an honor to be endorsed by CLEAT, the largest law enforcement union in Texas,” Radford said.

“Just like the voters I'm meeting across Travis County, CLEAT's endorsement proves law enforcement professionals want an experienced, qualified candidate for sheriff who's ready to hit the ground running on Day One.”
