AUSTIN — The Peace Officers’ Memorial Foundation (POMF), the charitable arm of the Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Texas (CLEAT), has announced its 2021 POMF Scholarship recipients.
Each year, the foundation presents scholarships to the dependents of Texas Law Enforcement officers who are either graduating high school seniors or enrolled in an accredited college/university.
The POMF Scholarship Committee receives many qualified applicants each year. This scholarship year was particularly difficult due to the number of applications received. Over 70 applications were reviewed by the committee from various regions of the state.
“Each year we are moved by the number of applicants who take the time to submit an application. In this incredibly divisive time, it’s a breath of fresh air to see that there are young adults who understand the sacrifice the men and women of Texas law enforcement make.” Said Lt. Marvin Ryals, CLEAT President. “This foundation is set in place to always honor fallen officers and never forget the sacrifice they have made.
