In Austin, a different outcome for the Woke city that has lost over 500 officers. 80% FOR their Prop A…a city ordinance that is unenforceable and violates state law.
CLEAT has always understood that a community that defunded its police department would eventually attempt to undo state law. Police hate groups who helped elect an anti-police, performative activist as its District Attorney would continue the push against the state laws of professional police standards.
Accordingly, following the certification of the election, CLEAT will move to immediately protect the rights of its members by filing a lawsuit in state court to stop the implementation of any local ordinance that violates state law and the Constitution.
